Sloppy joes are a fan favourite at my house. My family loves them because they’re delicious, and I love them because they’re so darn easy. I used ready-made seasoning for this so it didn’t take much of my time cooking it. Of course, I’m nothing if not spunky, so I had to add my twist to the original recipe. Here’s your new favourite sloppy joe recipe made with turkey; you can thank me later!
Yummy Homemade Sloppy Joes
These homemade sloppy joes are so good and easy to make. You cam eat it on its own or put in buns to enjoy its goodness.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey (minced turkey)
- ¼ cup white onion - diced
- ¼ cup yellow bell peppers (yellow capsicum) - diced
- ¼ cup cilantro (coriander) - chopped
- 1 medium tomato - diced up
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- In a large pan, heat olive oil and set to low heat.
- Once the oil is warm, add in the onion, bell pepper and cilantro. Simmer until tender.
- Next, add in the ground turkey breast. Once brown, add in the diced tomatoes, seasoning packs, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water.
- Mix up thoroughly and let simmer on low for about 30 minutes.
