What’s for dinner? It’s the dreaded question when you’re honestly clueless about what to make. I pulled out ground beef to thaw last night for dinner tonight. Then, I thought about what to make all night at work. I still had no idea by dinner time. The next step, scour the interwebs for ideas. None fit completely. So, I modified and got creative, and Bacon Cheeseburger Crescent Casserole was born.
This savoury dish is sinful; the combination of bacon and burger is expectedly flavourful! But it’s a meal you shouldn’t feel guilty about as every calorie is worth it with its goodness. Try this heavenly bacon cheeseburger crescent casserole and see for yourself how good it is.
Heavenly Bacon Cheeseburger Crescent Casserole Recipe
This bacon cheese burger crescent casserole is a must-try if you love bacon and burgers. It's the best of both worlds and it's so easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (minced beef)
- 1 medium yellow onion - finely diced
- 1 tablespoon garlic
- 1 tablespoon Italian herbs (oregano, rosemary, thyme, and sometimes basil and parsley)
- ¼ cup ketchup (tomato sauce Australia and UK)
- ⅛ cup mustard
- 1 package bacon - bits
- 2 cups cheddar cheese - shredded
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a 9×13 glass baking pan.
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. While ground beef is cooking, spread one tube of crescent rolls at the bottom of the baking dish. Add onion to ground beef and cook until the onion starts to turn translucent.
- Add seasonings, 3/4 package of bacon bits, ketchup, mustard, and dill relish. Stir to mix thoroughly.
- Pour mixture over crescent rolls in pan, leaving some of the crescent roll edges showing. Top with 1 3/4 cheese. Roll out the other tube of crescent rolls over the mixture.
- Top with the remainder of cheese and bacon bits. Pop the casserole in the oven and cook for about 20 minutes or until the crescent roll top is golden brown. Cut into 8 sections and enjoy.
