Ingredients
 
 

Pork Filling

  • Pork Mince300 g ground pork (minced pork) - preferably organic
  • Vegetable Oil1 tbsp vegetable oil - or peanut oil
  • Garlic2 cloves garlic - minced
  • Ginger1 tsp ginger - fresh, grated
  • Soy Sauce Bottles1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Spoon With Thick Brown Oyster Sauce Close Up1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • Hoisin Sauce2 tsp hoisin sauce
  • Sesame Oil1 tsp sesame oil
  • Green Onions Isolated On White4 stalks green onions - sliced thinly
  •  
    1 cup water chestnuts - diced

Assembly

  • Top View Of Fresh Butterhead Lettuce Isolated8 leaves butter lettuce - washed and dried
  • Big Bunch Of Fresh Green Cilantro Isolated1 handful cilantro - fresh, chopped
  •  
    1 small red chili - sliced, optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once shimmering, add 2 cloves of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger. Sauté briefly until aromatic, about 30 seconds.
  • Add 300g (10.58 oz) of ground pork to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked through, approximately 5-7 minutes. Break up any large clumps with a wooden spoon for even cooking.
  • Stir in 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 2 teaspoons of hoisin sauce, and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Add the sliced green onions and diced water chestnuts, stirring until combined and heated through.
  • Remove the pork mixture from heat and let it rest for a moment. Prepare the butter lettuce leaves by arranging them on a large serving platter or individual plates.
  • Spoon the cooked pork mixture generously into each lettuce cup. Garnish with fresh cilantro and, if desired, slices of red chili for an added kick.
