This recipe for hoisin meatballs is by far one of the most requested dishes at home. It's my go-to recipe when I want something easy yet delicious meatballs.
½cupgreen onions (scallions or green shallots) - thinly sliced
Hoisin Sauce Ingredients
⅔cuphoisin sauce
¼cuprice vinegar
2clovesgarlic - minced
2tablespoonssoy sauce
1teaspoonsesame oil
1teaspoonground ginger
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, sesame oil, almond meal, ground ginger, eggs, 3 teaspoons minced garlic, and ½ cup of sliced green onions. Use your hands and mix this well.
Shape into balls that are about the size of a whole walnut. Put meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place the meatballs into the oven and bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until fully cooked (the internal temperature has reached 165 degrees).
While meatballs are baking, mix hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, 2 minced garlic cloves, soy sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon ground ginger.
Serve the sauce in small condiment bowls or coat the meatballs before serving.
