Ingredients
 
 

Pasta and Meatballs Ingredients

  •  
    12 ounces pasta
  • turkey mince8 ounces ground turkey (minced turkey) - lean
  • garlic4 cloves garlic - finely chopped
  • Ripe yellow onion on a white background¼ cup onion - finely chopped
  • parsley on white background¼ cup parsley - chopped
  • Oregano (Origanum vulgare) leaves½ teaspoon oregano
  • Glass bowl of olive oil isolated on white background¼ cup olive oil - extra virgin plus more for drizzling
  • chicken egg1 large egg
  • Dried chili pepper flakes in wooden bowl over white1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • wooden bowl of salt1 pinch salt
  • Ground black pepper pile, paths, top1 pinch ground black pepper
  • parmesan cheese1 cup Parmesan cheese - grated

Tomato Sauce Ingredients

  • Glass bowl of olive oil isolated on white background2 tablespoons olive oil - virgin
  • garlic2 cloves garlic - chopped
  • Coarse sea salt top view1 pinch Sea salt
  • Ground black pepper pile, paths, top1 pinch ground black pepper
  • crushed tomatoes64 ounces passata or crushed tomatoes (tomato puree with seeds removed)
  • Dried basil leaves in wooden bowl over white1 tablespoon dried basil
  • Dried parsley isolated on a white1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • Pile of dried rosemary½ tablespoon dried rosemary
  • thyme herb½ tablespoon thyme - freshly chopped
  • Dried chili pepper flakes in wooden bowl over white1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • wooden bowl of salt1 pinch salt
  • Ground black pepper pile, paths, top1 pinch ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • To prepare the pasta with turkey meatballs, start by making the sauce. In a saucepan, heat the olive oil and add all the fresh/dried aromatic herbs along with garlic and pepper flakes. Let the aroma come out without burning the herbs.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes as soon as the garlic turn golden. Simmer for 20 to 25 minutes and let the sauce become rich and thick. Season with salt and pepper, taste, and form meatballs.
  • In the meantime, blend the turkey, onion, garlic, egg, parsley, salt and red pepper flakes in a large bowl. Mould the meat mixture into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Roast the meatballs at 350 degrees Celsius until they are brown outside. Pour the meatballs in the tomato sauce and simmer until it becomes a thick sauce. Let the meatballs be coated with the sauce to combine all flavours.
  • Boil a pot of water, then add salt to season the pasta while boiling.
  • Drain the pasta and divide it into the bowl or the favourite serving dishes when cooked. Add the meatball and sauce and grate some fresh Parmesan or ricotta for extra flavours. Garnish with dried oregano.
